This beautiful long oval medal has St. Christopher on one side and St. Anthony on the other.
St. Christopher was a Canaanite 7.5 feet tall with immense strength. According to legend, St. Christopher (named Reprobus) encountered a hermit who told him that in order to serve Jesus, he might use his strength to help travelers cross a dangerous river. One day a child arrived to be carried across the river. Reprobus took the child upon his shoulders, but as he crossed the river, the child grew heavier until Reprobus feared he would fall and that they would both drown. When he asked the child why he was so heavy, the child revealed that he was Jesus Christ and was heavy with the weight of the world's sins. When they reached the opposite bank, Christ asked Reprobus to press his staff into the ground and the staff turned into a beautiful flowering tree. Christ then baptized Reprobus as Christopher - means "Christ-bearer.” Christopher spent the remainder of his life in the service of Christ. He died a martyr in Lycia, in 251 A.D
St. Anthony is known for his eloquent and compelling preaching. He is also known as the Founder of Lost Things (and Lost Souls or those who have fallen from the Church). Prayer: "St. Anthony, please look around; something is lost and must be found.”
This is an excellent gift for the new driver or graduate headed to college or another town. It works great on a long chain or a keyring for both men (stainless male chain) and women (long ss pyrite chain).
